The New Dental Paradise

Year after year, thousands of tourists arrive to the "Mexican Caribbean" to spend the holidays and enjoy everything that Mexico offers its visitors. So far everything seems normal, but in recent years a significant number of Canadian and American tourists are opting to come to Cancun and the Riviera Maya as a medical plan.  

We talked with Dr. Irma Gavaldon , director of  Ocean Dental Cancun , who are leaders in dental tourism and give us their point of view on this subject.  

Particularly there is a very segmented group that is getting bigger every day and it is the one of the dental tourism as it happens in the northern border of Mexico where thousands of foreigners who live in the United States cross the border in search of dental treatments at low cost .

As it happens, it also happens in Cancun and Playa del Carmen that being leisure tourist destinations it is becoming a dental destination for many foreigners (mainly from USA and Canada).

Cancun and the Riviera Maya have become a new " Molar City " as thousands and thousands of tourists come to these destinations to improve their oral health and save many dollars.  

It is estimated that the average savings of a dental treatment in the United States or Canada can be 70% to 80% more expensive than in Mexico.  

But what is the reason why, instead of visiting Los Algodones, people are choosing to come to Cancun and Riviera Maya?  

"Mexico is a multicultural country and very cheap for North Americans and Europeans, now in the last 30 years the preparation of dental specialists has been greatly improved to the extent that nowadays we can offer the same quality and many times superior to the one offered many dentists in other first world countries, if you add those main advantages and add a paradise like the Mexican Caribbean and its culture, patients will prefer to come here, "explained Dr. IrmaGavaldon , specialist and head of ODC .

In Cancun and Riviera Maya there are more than 100 dental clinics that offer competitive prices. Many of them are specialized clinics and there are for all budgets.

Another point to consider is that language is not a problem because being an international tourist destination English is perfectly spoken.
